Thistle plasters have been formulated to suit a wide variety of background types including concrete, brick, blockwork, sand / cement, expanded metal lath and plasterboard. The Thistle range also includes associated beads, reinforcing tapes and bonding agents. These have been manufactured, selected and tested to work reliably with Thistle plasters.
Dry Lining / Dry Walling
Gyproc jointing materials produce a smooth, continuous, crack-resistant lining surface ready for priming and final decoration. A number of jointing specifications are available to suit the board type, site preference and method of application - manually using hand tools or mechanically using Gyproc Speed Tape tools. After joint treatment has dried, the complete lining surface is treated with Gyproc Drywall Primer to prepare it for application of paint. Gyproc Drywall Sealer can be used in one coat to allow steam stripping of wall coverings, or in two coats to provide water vapour control.
Specialist Render Systems
Our highly trained operatives are able to apply high performance thin coat renders and insulated render systems. We also specialise in traditional renders including monocouche, one coat renders and lime based solutions. All of which produce aesthetically pleasing and environmentally friendly results.
A floor screed is usually a cementitious material made from a 1:3 or 1:4.5 ratio of cement to sharp sand. It may be applied onto either a solid in-situ concrete ground floor slab or onto a precast concrete floor unit. Alternatively it may be applied as a floating finish over a layer of rigid insulation material where the screed should be a minimum 65mm thick or 75mm if it contains underfloor heating pipes. As an independent specialist we can offer advice and costs for the systems best suited for your project.
